Corporate reporting for creating corporate value
and sustainable society




Today, society around us is forced to make redefinition our values. One symbolic phenomenon is the widespread involvement of environmental and social issues in corporate value, and the fact that, beyond factors that can be measured financially and visualized to date, tangible or intangibles factors are determining market value and affecting every decision making.
Corporate reporting is an activity that exist a company entrusted with the creation of value to fulfill its accountability to the parties concerned as an organization authorized by society as an economic entity. As the value required of the company and the expectations of stakeholders change, the content of the corporate report must be adapted accordingly.
As the global economy expands, the environment surrounding companies is becoming more complex and the pace of change is increasing. And the way corporate reporting has been discussed over the past 20 years is converging in one direction, driven by growing awareness of the need for a global baseline. However, on the other hand, it is also true that new conflicts, friction and difficulties are arising.
I believe that corporate reporting is an activity to improve corporate value over the medium to long term and to create value that coexists with the sustainability of society, which is the responsibility of the company. It is essential for a company to fulfill its social raison d'etre, and forms the basis of communication practices that contribute to collaboration with diverse and unique organizations and people. "Reports" and "disclosure materials" are just one form.
For more than 25 years, I have been allowed to be involved in things that are not visible, and to exist as a party in the process of change and discussion. I hope that I can continue to work together for the future with those who are sincerely facing the changes in society as the opportunity for their own changes.
